Arrival with public transport
At the central stops “Hauptbahnhof”, “Kröpcke” and “Aegidientorplatz” (tram network hubs), there are lifts to the U-Bahn stations. The final stop Messe/Nord is a raised platform.
When travelling from the Hauptbahnhof to the fairground, tram lines 8 or 18 to the fairground’s Nord entrance are ideal for visitors with limited mobility. The new, silver trams run on these routes. These have automatic height regulation at the entrances to ensure that wheelchair users can also board conveniently without the assistance of others. The wide double doors do not have a central pole, and each car has two wheelchair spaces (with folding seats).
Visually impaired visitors will find it easier to board the U-Bahn thanks to the tactile guide strips and tactile tiles in the U-Bahn stations Hauptbahnhof and Kröpcke. There are also acoustic train destination announcements.
Arrival from the airport
Whether arriving and departing with your own car or with a taxi, the drop-off and pick-up options for vehicles are located directly in front of the entrance and exit doors of terminals A, B and C. The doors are wide enough to accommodate wheelchair users, every single one is automatic and level with the ground. The kerbs are lowered at the key transition points.
The stop for the airport – exhibition centre shuttle bus which travels between the airport and the main train station is also located directly in front of the terminal building, on the arrivals level between terminals A and B.
You can also travel from the airport to the main train station via S-Bahn line 5.
Parking
Some of the paid parking spaces outside of the fairground are reserved as special parking spaces for persons with physical disabilities. These special parking spaces are directly adjacent to each of the open trade fair entrances and their locations are specially indicated for the trade fairs and exhibitions.
We are delighted that the start went so smoothly. We were given such a warm welcome to the Hanover Fairground by all service providers, and the cooperation with everyone involved was excellent.

WOM event management,
hagebau Handelsgesellschaft für Baustoffe mbH & Co.
The hagebau Christmas order fair is one of our three order fairs each year. It gives our partners the opportunity to get to know the latest trends and concepts and put them into practice for their locations. We really appreciated the professional framework of the WOM launch event as the first of our fairs here in Hanover. We have had many discussions with store employees and exhibitors who reflected positively on the content and the scheduling of the event. After 23 years in Göttingen’s Lokhalle, we are now looking forward to our new chapter here in Hanover and we are certain that we have made the right decision.
